Šibenik welcomed 2026 with organized festivities at several locations across the city, and on the main stage next to St. James Cathedral, Morcheeba wished everyone a Happy New Year in Croatian.
On one of the most beautiful Renaissance squares, popular Zagreb DJ Pytzek kicked off the New Year’s celebration with a skillfully curated warm-up set, paving the way for an eruption of excitement when members of the British band Morcheeba took the stage.
“We were in this city nine years ago, performing at St. Michael’s Fortress,” recalled Ross Godfrey, adding that it was a wonderful experience and they wished to return. “Thank you, Šibenik, for making that possible,” Ross told the crowd to their delight, as they sang along to every song. Charismatic Skye gradually built the festive atmosphere to its peak with her excellent interaction with the audience, leading up to the midnight countdown. Confetti and good wishes filled the sky, and Ross wished everyone “Sretna Nova godina!” in Croatian from the stage.
After Morcheeba, the party continued on the square next to the cathedral with the energetic Philip Lassiter, supported by Mirza Soul Shadow.
As part of the city’s open-air celebration, the festivities also took place in Robert Visiani Park. DJ duo Bake & Vlado warmed up the chilly winter night, followed by Matija Cvek and The Funkensteins, who led visitors of Adventurica Park into the New Year. DJ duo Djobi Djoba kept the party going afterward.
But the New Year’s celebration in Šibenik didn’t end with the countdown! Dancing continued for three more days at several locations.
The rich New Year’s program was organized by Tvrđava kulture Šibenik, the City of Šibenik, and the Šibenik Tourist Board.
