The idea of building an open-air stage on St. Michael’s Fortress emerged during the mid-20th century. In 2014, the fortress renovation included the construction of an auditorium, which turned this historic monument into the most prestigious open-air stage in the region.
The exclusivity of the location lies in the fact that the auditorium has only 1077 seats! From there visitors have enjoyed the concerts of renowned Croatian performers and worldwide music stars - Bryan Ferry, LP, Róisín Murphy, Mario Biondi, Gregory Porter, Gus Gus, Stereo MC's, Laibach, Morcheeba, The National, Nouvelle Vague, Thievery Corporation...
By organizing programs and presenting the history of Šibenik among its imposing ramparts, St. Michael's Fortress has become a premium location for unique events that have already positioned Šibenik as one of the leading concert destinations in Croatia.
