Šibenik will welcome 2026 with the legendary British trip-hop band Morcheeba, performing at the square beside the UNESCO-listed Cathedral of St. James. Continuing its tradition of hosting top international acts, the city will once again be one of the Adriatic’s most exciting New Year’s Eve destinations.
The British group Morcheeba, one of the most influential names in global music for the past three decades, has captivated audiences through eleven studio albums, millions of records sold, and performances on some of the world’s biggest stages.
Formed in London in 1995, the band blends elements of trip-hop, alternative rock, R&B, and downtempo. Their first EP, Trigger Hippie, opened the doors to the international scene, while their debut album Who Can You Trust? defined their signature laid-back sound. This was followed by the cult albums Big Calm, Fragments of Freedom, and Charango, featuring unforgettable hits such as Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day, The Sea, Undress Me Now, and Part of the Process. Their latest release, Escape The Chaos, showcases the band’s trademark sound, bold experimentation, and the unmistakable, hypnotic vocals of Skye Edwards.
The New Year’s Eve concert in Šibenik will present a cross-section of Morcheeba’s rich catalogue in the stunning setting of the square beside St. James’s Cathedral. The band returns to the city nine years after their memorable 2016 concert at St. Michael’s Fortress. The event is once again organized by Šibenik Fortress of Culture, with the support of the City of Šibenik and the Šibenik Tourist Board.
Before Morcheeba takes the stage, the night will heat up with Pytzek, one of the region’s finest house DJs. The celebration will continue with Philip Lassiter, a multi–Grammy-winning trumpeter and arranger known for his collaborations with Prince. His unique blend of gospel, jazz, funk, afrobeat, and soul delivers infectious energy, joined by local musician Mirza Soul Shadow.
