Luky
Luky, one of our most charismatic musicians, is returning to the stage after thirteen years of silence — and he’s doing it at the birthday concert of St. Michael’s Fortress on June 5!
Some comebacks arrive quietly, like a story that has been gently simmering beneath the surface the whole time. Such is the return of Dragan Lukić Šegedin — Luky — who steps back into the spotlight with the release of his new and remarkable EP Grad pored luke (The Town by the Harbour). From one of the most beautiful open-air stages in Europe, and on its birthday, Luky will present his new songs and perform the old ones from the trilogy by which we know him best: Ararita, VITRIOL, and Hvala. Luky has a special connection to Šibenik; as a child, he often visited the city with his father, visiting Arsen Dedić.
Before fully devoting himself to his own songwriting, Luky had already been deeply ingrained in the history of domestic music as the keyboardist for Tužne Uši, Đavoli, Dino Dvornik, and TBF. As a music producer and multiple Porin Award winner, he contributed to the creation of iconic albums by Urban, Daleka obala, Dino Dvornik, Oliver Dragojević, TBF, Fon Biskich & Narodno blago, leaving a significant mark on releases that defined an important era of the Croatian pop-rock scene.
His first solo album Ararita marked the moment when, after years of working behind the scenes, he fully emerged as an independent author. It is an intimate and expressive pop record that revealed how personal experiences can become universal. With VITRIOL, he turned to more complex arrangements and a more introspective, darker sound, while Hvala closed one creative chapter and opened a long period of withdrawal from the public eye.
After thirteen years of silence, through the four new tracks of the EP Grad pored luke, Luky once again takes us on a journey between nostalgia and the present, between the city and the people who shaped him, searching for the fundamental values of love and kindness — values that today often seem forgotten.
At the concert at St. Michael’s Fortress, instead of spectacle and grand staging, we can expect an evening of atmosphere, subtlety, and sincerity — a night in which the songs will be experienced not just as music but as a space of shared memory and emotion.
Timeless pieces like Ti si more, Nigdi mira nimam, Mislit na sebe, Provaj, Svitlo u tebi, Prije sna, Još uvik imam voje, Tamo di san davno tija, Arti, Hvala, along with newer songs such as Srce od zlata, Grad pored luke, and Zbogom anđeli, are just some of those we will hear that evening.
