Pavle Miljenović Quintet
Jazz guitarist Pavle Miljenović and his quintet will be performing at Barone Fortress as part of the Barone Jazz Festival on July 7th.
Miljenović has released two studio albums that have received excellent reviews from both critics and audiences, expanding beyond jazz music enthusiasts.
He is now presenting his third original album, also the second album with his quintet, titled "Arrival." Following his debut album, "Begin.," with the quintet, he also released the acclaimed album "Upper Structures" with the quartet.
"The inspiration for the album 'Arrival' has always been within me, I suppose. I just needed to mature artistically, skillfully, and personally to bring it to life. The idea was to express myself in an honest and unpretentious manner, while remaining stylistically and compositionally consistent with my first Quintet album, 'Begin.' In this ensemble, the emphasis is always on melody and the mental imagery/cinematic quality of the music. As if they accompany a scene from life," says Miljenović ahead of his concert at Barone.
Apart from being an exceptional guitarist, Miljenović is also a composer who penned all the compositions on the album. His arrangements offer an intriguing and cohesive contemporary jazz sound. Joining him once again on "Arrival" are his longtime collaborators and outstanding jazz musicians – Saša Nestorović on saxophone, Hrvoje Galler on piano, Zvonimir Šestak on double bass, and Borko Rupena on drums.
Tickets for the concert, starting at 9:00 PM, are available for €6 online and at the City Point in the Šibenik fortresses. Members of the Friends Club can enjoy a 10% discount on ticket purchases by presenting a valid membership card at the box office.
