In honour of Arsen Dedić, one of the most important authors of the Croatian music and poetry scene, Barone Fortress will host a special musical evening on 25 August. World-renowned guitarist Miroslav Tadić and vocalist Tina Vukov, known for the subtle strength of her voice, will come together on stage through songs that have marked generations.
Tople ruševine ljeta is part of an ongoing concert cycle through which the Fortress of Culture Šibenik pays tribute to the artistic legacy of Arsen Dedić, Gabi Novak and Matija Dedić. Through special musical evenings dedicated to their work, the cycle brings new interpretations of the oeuvre of three great artists who have left a profound mark on Croatian culture.
Miroslav Tadić belongs to that rare group of guitarists who effortlessly combine virtuosity, restraint and a deep sensitivity to the material they perform. His approach to the guitar will bring a new dimension to Arsen’s compositions, revealing different layers of familiar songs through acoustic and carefully crafted arrangements.
Tina Vukov will present Arsen’s vulnerability, tenderness and strength in her own unique, personal and distinctly feminine way. The Porin Award-winning artist does so without excess gesture, returning Arsen’s lyrics to their most delicate point: the word that remains long after the song has ended.
For one evening, Barone Fortress will become a home for Arsen’s timeless songs. Moderato Cantabile, Kuća pored mora (The House by the Sea), Djevojka za jedan dan (A Girl for One Day), Vraćam se (I’m Coming Back), Sa okusom mora (With the Taste of the Sea), U registraturi, Glembajevi, Ofelija, and many others will be performed by two artists who each carry Arsen’s legacy in their own way.
Miroslav Tadić and Tina Vukov will be joined by outstanding instrumentalists Branimir Gazdik, Ivo Popeskić, Marko Ramljak and Nino Krznar. In the meeting of Tadić’s guitar, Tina’s voice and the ensemble’s musicianship, these beloved compositions remain familiar yet are heard from a fresh perspective. It will be an evening dedicated to Arsen, his words and melodies, and the way his songs continue to live on through new interpretations.
