World-famous vocal choir Perpetuum Jazzile performed last night in front of the packed summer stage of St. Michael's Fortress. Sensational Slovenians, who have released several studio and live albums in their career and became a global hit, presented a real vocal ecstasy to audience in Šibenik, with their powerful rythm, unmatched creativity, special mixture of pop, jazz, gospel, blues, bossanova, disco, funk, and a unique voice simulation of music instruments.
Their story became international in 2009., with a cover of Toto's 'Africa' – this Youtube video has more than 17 million views, and their interpretation was lauded by the original author, David Paich. Their last-night repertoir included covers of top evergreen hits, originally made by Abba, David Bowie, Van Halen, Michael Jackson, but also the covers of modern pop icons, such as Lady Gaga, David Guetta, Daft Punk, Sie and others. Through an interaction with the audience they also showed a great sence of humor, and four lucky visitors also had a chance to conduct an orchestra.
„We are really thrilled that our audience had a chance to experience this unique vocal attraction, right at unique ambient of St. Michael's Fortress. Weather conditions were also perfect, so we have opened a new season of evening events on the Fortress in a best way possible“, said Gorana Barišić Bačelić, head of the Department for Management of the Fortification System Facilities.
