Scottish singer Emeli Sandé will perform at St. Michael’s Fortress in Šibenik, Croatia on July 15th! The upcoming gig at one of the most beautiful Croatian locations, which will be celebrating its tenth concert season this summer, will be the first concert of the famous singer in Croatia!
The award-winning Scottish musician with a powerful voice was first noticed in 2009. Since then, her career has been on a constant upward trajectory.
Sandé was the British 'number one singer' three times with the songs 'Read all about it', 'Next to me' and 'Beneath Your Beautiful'. Her first album 'Our Version of Events' held the top spot in the UK charts for ten consecutive weeks and in 2012. became the best selling album in the UK with over a million copies sold. In the same year, Sandé performed at the opening of the Olympic Games, and won two Brit Awards, for British album of the year and for best female singer.
Sandé once said that she wanted songs on her first album to be fresh, and she wanted people to see every side of her as an artist, so it was important to her to have songs with real music - lyrics connection, rather than just throwaway pop music hits.
Sandé life and work were influenced by musical icons such as Joni Mitchell, Lauryn Hill, Nina Simone, and also by the incredible Frida Kahlo, whose portrait Emeli proudly wears as a tattoo on her arm.
