Bonobo's performance at St. Michael's Fortress won the Ambasador Award in the Event of the Year category! The awards were presented last night at the Boogaloo club in Zagreb, and they are given by the most famous electronic music portal Klubskascena.hr, which annually gathers the entire electronic music industry and awards top achievements in Croatia and the region!
On behalf of the Fortress of Culture Šibenik, the Ambassador award was accepted by Morana Periša, the head of the Department of Program Production.
- This is a great recognition for the Fortress of Culture, and it is especially important as it comes after the tenth, jubilee season of St. Michael, a stage that has changed the perception of the Šibenik city. This award has additional weight because it confirms the specific, perhaps even unique role we have taken within the public sector, where we were the only representatives out of over 150 nominees! As in previous years, we will continue to support and present to the audience quality and relevant content, not only from the (electronic) music scene but from all areas of art that have made Šibenik an unavoidable point - Morana Periša said after receiving the award.
Bonobo, one of the world's favorite musicians, a master of combining styles, and a headliner at major world festivals for years, performed on August 8 in front of a sold-out audience at St. Michael's Fortress with an eight-member band as part of the highly successful 'Fragments Live' tour.
Alongside Bonobo at St. Michael's Fortress in the "Event of the Year" category, nominees included Depeche Mode in the Zagreb Arena, The Prodigy in Umag, Florence + The Machine in the Pula Arena, and Hot Since 82 at Maksimir.
The Ambassador Award thus put the finishing touch on the jubilee concert season, during which this summer at St. Michael's Fortress, ten years of good music were marked with 14 different music and stage programs! Bryan Ferry, LP, Róisín Murphy, Anna Oxa, Gregory Porter, GusGus, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Michael Kiwanuka, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Lorde, Emeli Sandé, Sigur Rós, and Bonobo are just some of the internationally renowned names that the attractive stage at the Fortress has hosted since 2014, putting Šibenik on the European map of must-visit cultural destinations!
We also announce the next, eleventh concert season at St. Michael's Fortress, for which we will soon release the first names. Until then, we look forward to welcoming the New Year in Šibenik and 321 FEST with Parov Stelar and Stereo MC's as headliners!
