Koke - with members of the film team in attendance
Koke
dir. Igor Jelinović; Croatia, Serbia; 2026; 97 min
The feature debut of Split-based director Igor Jelinović uses sharp humour to explore family dynamics and intergenerational misunderstandings. Tonina is the owner of an accounting firm where she employs both her husband and daughter. A devoted sister and mother, she keeps every aspect of family life under control while also caring for her bedridden mother. Her younger sister Tajana leads a far more relaxed and less ambitious life with her own family. Tensions between the two escalate into a serious conflict when Tonina secretly purchases a share of the family house on the island of Hvar, despite their agreement to buy it together.
Featuring a strong ensemble cast led by Snježana Sinovčić Šiškov and Aleksandra Janković as the two sisters, Koke premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. It will be presented to Croatian audiences as the opening film of the 19th edition of the Mediterranean Film Festival Split.
